Malvae Unveils ‘Chrysalis’ EP, a Synthesis of Organic Samples and Analogue Synthesizers

Dutch-New Zealand producer Malvae is dropping his latest work, the Chrysalis EP, filled with tracks that will leave you stunned. The EP kicks off with “0,” a haunting prelude that transitions into “Tell Me,” where MAY BBY’s ethereal vocals float effortlessly over a gritty production. The lead single, “Pursue,” is a standout, pulling you into its other-worldly ambiance with unique sounds only Malvae can craft.

Malvae, born Jim van der Breggen, grew up in New Zealand and the Netherlands. His music combines organic samples recorded in the wild with analogue synthesizers, creating rich, immersive productions. He made waves with “Haunts Me” in 2017 and journeyed through the Amazon Rainforest to produce his debut album, Amazonas, using field recordings to raise environmental awareness.

Malvae’s accolades are impressive. He debuted a new live set at the iconic Melkweg in Amsterdam, a visually and sonically captivating experience. His EP, Chrysalis, available in limited edition heavyweight red vinyl, showcases his ability to blend electronic influences with natural sounds, and leaving something that will surely stand the test of time.
